First Blog Post and Current Series!

Welcome to my very first blog post!
I’m going to try to be good about keeping this blog updated, but I’ll be honest with you. When I have a spare hour, my first instinct will always be to open a manuscript and write. If things go quiet here for a while, you’ll know where I am.
I’m often asked which of my series is my favorite. My answer is always the same: whichever one I’m working on right now. I love all my books and every one of my characters, including those who make terrible decisions. The current story is simply the one living in my head day and night. At the moment, that’s the Learmonth series.
The Learmonth series grew from my fictional take on Thomas the Rhymer, the thirteenth-century Scottish poet who, according to legend, spent seven years in the land of Faerie. In my version, Thomas never quite came back the same. Centuries later, Thomas Learmonth still lives in the Scottish Borders, where he leads a secret household of vampires beneath an ancient castle.
The Learmonth Series began with The Seventh Line, when a medieval manuscript tied to Thomas Learmonth’s past brought Charlotte, an academic at the University of Edinburgh, into a world she never imagined existed. What began as an investigation into a centuries-old legend soon became something far more dangerous, drawing her into the lives of Thomas, the vampire family he created, and the secrets they've carried through history.
Now, eight books into the series, the story has grown well beyond its beginnings. Along the way, we've explored centuries of history, Scottish folklore, ancient supernatural creatures, and the complicated relationships between vampires, witches, werewolves, and the Fae.
The eighth book, The First Binding, brings one of the series' largest story arcs to its conclusion, as Thomas confronts the ancient Fae Queen and the consequences of a conflict that reaches back centuries. It's a turning point for the Learmonth family, bringing long-buried secrets into the open and resolving questions that have followed them through several books.
But the Learmonth story isn't over. I'm currently working on Book Nine, The Savage Inheritance, which takes the series in a new direction, with Rane stepping into a more central role as his journey leads him to New York City.
I'll continue sharing updates about the books, the characters, and the fascinating history and folklore that inspire the series. There's still plenty more to explore, and I'm looking forward to sharing it with you.
Back to my fictional worlds I go...
