The Keeping Rite

IV. The Keeping Rite

After four hundred years, Alistair Ashcombe has finally returned to the Impossible Theatre—and he believes he knows how to break the curse that has held the company captive for centuries.

For the first time, freedom feels close enough to touch.

Then the theatre moves.

Stranded in Stockholm, the company finds a city that remembers performances they never gave and a theatre hiding voices behind its walls. When a dangerously powerful warlock named Gunnar Ekström walks into the middle of a performance and puts an entire audience to sleep with a gesture, it becomes clear that the Impossible Theatre has a history none of them fully understands.

Alistair may know Vasseur’s curse better than anyone alive. Gunnar knows something older.

But every attempt to free the company seems to wake something else—and the dead are beginning to make themselves heard.

To finally escape, the company will have to uncover what the theatre was before Vasseur found it, what he changed, and why some things inside its walls have been waiting centuries to be released.

The Keeping Rite is the fourth and final installment in The Impossible Theatre Series, a supernatural fantasy of ancient magic, found family, ghosts, vampires, warlocks, and the terrible cost of finally getting what you have wanted for four hundred years.
